Re: Class II Division 2 camouflage (non-surgical) treatment for adults: please share your experience

I just finished up treatment in Jan 18. I also had a Class II Division 2 bite and had premolar extractions. Here is the link to my before and after photos. Very positive results with the camouflage.

Re: Final Results - Premolar Extractions, Braces, and Slow Palatal Expansion for Open Bite, Severe Overjet, and Crowding

Nami,
I had one premolar extracted on the lower arch. As a child I had a tooth removed for some reason that I can't recall at the moment.

Final Results - Premolar Extractions, Braces, and Slow Palatal Expansion for Open Bite, Severe Overjet, and Crowding

I had a severe overjet, open bite, cross bite, crowding, and narrow palate. Treatment consisted of premolar extractions, slow palatal expansion for 10 months, and traditional braces. The total treatment time was 2 years 10 months and 1 day. After treatment was completed, I had upper and lower bondin...

Re: My 1st tightening

Depending on your treatment type and movements you need, your orthodontist may not close your gaps until the very end of treatment. To our dismay orthodontists actually need that space to rotate and align. Many times gap closure is the last part of treatment but don't be discouraged because it is al...

Re: Braces and anaesthesia

Glad everything went well. I'm an anesthetist and as mentioned there is always a risk of damage to teeth/oral mucosa when general anesthesia is required. The risks vary greatly depending upon each patient and procedure. If we are intubating you there is obviously a higher risk but not enough to dete...

Re: Just started fitting braces and is wondering how my case will turn out

Don't expect to see movement quickly. You will be disappointed. It is a LONG process and to achieve the most appropriate result your orthodontist makes small adjustments over the course of years. From your pictures your case looks complex, so be patient. Results will occur slowly but you won't notic...

Re: Non-Surgical Palatal Expansion in Adults

Yes, I posted some progress pictures a few weeks ago. I think it's something titled 11 months. Just search through my posts. I have had the expander out for 3 months now. I have lost a little bit of width that I had when the expander was in but nothing too significant. Everything seems to be on trac...

Re: Anyone NOT get surgery?

It is interesting that your ortho chose invisalign instead of traditional braces to make the pre-surgery adjustments. Obviously there are bite issues if you need surgery and for the most part invisalign is merely straightening teeth without completely correcting existing bite problems. Sure, your bi...

Re: 11 month progress pictures

Here's a side view of the retraction, over-jet correction, and open bite closure. Mainly power chains, metal ties, and various wire bends were used to achieve this result.

11 month progress pictures

Hi all. Just thought I would post a few progress pictures. I had a severe open bite, significant over-jet, crowding, and narrow upper. You can definitely visualize the anterior retraction and widening with my NiTi expander that my ortho was able to achieve. I'm very happy with the progress so far bu...

Re: Non-Surgical Palatal Expansion in Adults

dbala, I haven't posted the pictures anywhere else other than this site. You just need to keep posting until you've reached you're able to activate the picture viewing capability of your account. The expander is difficult to live with but the end goal will hopefully be worth the dismay. My ortho is ...

Re: Unique TPA

Hi Ridingboots, I've seen the Quad Helix. Also, somewhat bulky but I'm sure it works well. Yeah, I struggled with speech pretty bad the first couple months honestly. I had to slow my speech and sometimes think about my tongue position. Obviously, "s" and "c" were main culprits fo...
