Re: Hate outcome at 3mo post op

I'm so glad you had a great Kaiser experience!! I have heard good things from a few other Kaiser locations, particularly from Kaiser Anaheim and Dr. Belle. There is a guy in Kaiser South Sac that a few people said they did OK with too (I want to say his name is Dr. Huoang or something). Seems like ...

Re: Fall/Early Winter 2016 Surgery Buddies

Update, ten days out: I got my wires taken out yesterday, and to my surprise, the doctor removed the splint as well! She wasn't the surgeon who did the surgery, and my mother and I were a little confused, but she said that I ended up not needing the splint, so I suppose the surgeon must have made a...

Re: Complications post op... another surgery.

Hey im back, it was actually a lot better than i thought. They gave me an IV and i was pretty much out. I dont remember anything. So they removed a peice of bone I actually got to keep it, along with the screw that was holding it there. They did a bonegraft and everything should be fine. I feel fin...

Re: Hate outcome at 3mo post op

Wow, great results Lyra! You must be thrilled!!! I think I'm finally settling in to the changes and I for sure I am glad to fix what was going on after my first surgery. And I am super glad to be an anal record keeper so I can respond to threads like this and say "look how the face puff evolve...

Re: How often do you smile since you got braces?

i probably smile the same amount, if not more, with my braces! even when i had my underbite and glaringly ugly surgical hooks on my front teeth, i've found that i've never been ashamed of my braces and actually fully embraced (hah!) them. now that I'm a couple weeks post op with jaw surgery and my t...

Re: I don't like my braces

start taking photos of your teeth. in a few weeks or months when you REALLY start seeing progress, hopefully you'll look back and think this was one of the best decisions you've made.

Re: Lip Lift - How Soon After Jaw Surgery?

6 weeks is still pretty early IMO. i am almost to that point and most of my swelling is actually in my upper lip (and cheeks). I'd wait a couple more months at least but 6 months-1 year is what my surgeon recommended to wait until I considered plastic surgery.

Re: Fall/Early Winter 2016 Surgery Buddies

Hi All, I have had a really rough time recovering. After the one nose trumpet was removed, I was fine for a couple days, then when I saw the surgeon this past Thursday he noticed that my septum had deviated again, so he inserted TWO nose trumpets to keep it in place. It was traumatizing again. I ha...

Re: Fall/Early Winter 2016 Surgery Buddies

Hi All, surgery lasted 10 hours, surgeon is happy with the results. I had a lot of difficulty breathing afterward--on Day 2, I had to go into surgeon's office for him to fix my deviated septum and to insert a nose trumpet (very painful!). Even with all that, I still wasn't able to breathe and almos...

Long time no talk! My tongue was a little numb, but it was mostly my mouth. It seems to be getting back to normal though, so that's a positive! How is your numbness now? My upper teeth are still pretty numb/roof of my mouth. Cheeks and some areas on my chin. hey kpw818! good to hear that things are...
