I'm heading towards the end of my time in braces, and I'm scheduled to have a frenectomy next week (eek!) I use my waterpik before AND after brushing... the first time to knock any large bits of food out of the brackets before flossing, the second time to rinse out that "toothpaste foam" residue before using mouthwash

How often should you do the salt water rinse? Once a day? After every meal? I have a stolen gum I am trying to bring down and just did my first salt water rinse last night...

I get my braces this week (eek!) and was curious if the ortho will clean my teeth before placing the brackets/bands? I'm really good about brushing and all that, but I'm kinda paranoid that I'll miss a spot brushing or flossing that morning and something will get "trapped" :(

I just got my Waterpik Aquarius a couple days ago in preparation for getting my braces on at the end of the month, and I think I got more water on the vanity than I did in my mouth! I guess I have to practice, practice, practice!
