I had the same problem when I was in braces(now I'm naked :wink: ) I went to my dentist after the braces came off to survey the damages, if any at all. do you think it can contribute to the gaps?
my hubby never flosses and when he goes for a check up, the doctor tells my hubby what a healthy mouth he has...he's had one filling in all his life.

same here...but my ortho tells me that it can be fixed with the retainer.
told me I have to wear my retainer diligently for at least 3 months and
he'll adjust the retainer to close the gaps.

I got my braces off last month and I too was concerned about the rather large gaps inbetween my molars and my ortho tells me that wearing the retainer will eventually help close the gaps. I'm wearing hawley.

for me debanding was very easy, painfree.
they used some kind of drill that cut one side of the band and it simply came lose.

many of you seem to have great after photos..did you get them taken at your orthos office?
mine didn't take any pictures of my teeth..

I also need it on the lower front teeth but I don't have dental insurance.

I went thru the same thing..I hated the retainer more so than the braces but before you know it, it'll get much easier to put in and take out..

I got my braces off last friday and I love the result,
but I noticed several triangles inbetween my lower front teeth...
and a real big one right in the middle. I feel so old!!
My mother has them but she's in her late 60's!!!
I didn't have them before...
sigh..I better go see a dentist.

is acrylic retainer with metal wires called essix? or hawley?
see how little I know??? assistnt removed my braces and fitted me with new retainer and moved onto next patient.
next visit I will demand to see ortho and ask him tons of questions.

I was not given any kind of instruction so I didn't evey know that you're not suppose to wash in hot water. Is cold water okay?

thanks everyone for your replies.. Granola, both of my top and lower retainer is giving me the problem. It's really tight that when ever I try to remove it or wear it, the wires scratch the surface of my enamel living black stain fr the metal wire..I think after few scratches it might damage my teet...

Although I'm very happy that my teeth are naked, I'm not so thrilled about the retainer. I thought I was home free! I don't know which is worse the braces or the retainer.
