I have to travel to get my surgery. For my first double jaw and genioplasty surgery, the surgeon said I could fly home as soon as I was released from the hospital, and I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights post op.

Personally, it works better if you alternate between wearing and not wearing wax. As in wear it for a day, don't wear it the next. I think a lot of people get braces for purely cosmetic reasons, even if their teeth are not that bad to begin with. It definitely varies from person to person. I didn't have any problem eating at all and i still have not (I ate baked chips that night). Try taking some advil/tylenol 30-45 minutes before eating and you should be back to normal in two weeks at most.

Most of mine are 5 weeks apart (there is one weekday that is particularly convenient) but they usually aim for exactly a month. Any longer than that feels too long and the clear ligatures get so stained :(
