I have a bonded retainer on my top 4 and one on my lower 6. I've had them on since January 18 of this year and the top one has already come loose. apparently I flossed too hard and it made one of the edges come up.

My poor teeth are in horrible condition after 34 years of severe crowding/bad bite. I thought about getting the fixed but I think I'm going to keep the imperfections now.

My teeth are super sensitive and achy but I just got them off yesterday.

I was a little nervous. Taking the brackets off didnt hurt at all, but getting the glue sanded off and the polishing was a little painful as my teeth are sensitive.

Every four months. I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay the deductible that comes with cleaning quarterly and it makes all the difference in the world.

I'm at 19 months and I've only had two 6 week periods where my orthodontist told me not to wear them. I have to wear elastics 24/7. :\

I only had that happen one time with wire ties. I think it's bacteria build up from where it's impossible to reach with a brush sometimes.

I lost ten lbs in 2 months because of my buildups and not wanting to be bothered with brushing after eating. It gets better once the buildups wear down a bit.

I've started grinding my teeth in my sleep since I got braces.

Yep. Have power chains across front and bottom and elastics to fix my midline right now. It's definitely not pleasant.

Everytime I get an adjustment the go numb for a couple days at least.

I still have mine after 13 months. They've worn down a lot though.

The holes the wires dig into the side of your cheek and since the braces have been put on I've become a grinder in my sleep. I'll wake myself up doing it.

Awww, it gets better, I promise. Soon you'll get used to it.
