Re: Got braces today, Going nuts.
I had them at first too. Mine wore down fairly quickly. They were annoying as hell.

Re: Where to have palate expandsion in UK?
Funny you mentioned this. I'm in the North East and asked if I'd need a palate expander when I first met with a treatment consultant. She looked at me confused not knowing what I was on about.

Re: Being picked on for having crooked teeth
Yep. I've been there. A few moments stick in my mind. Going for a family dinner as a teenage and my sister asking why my tooth was like that (I had an impacted canine) then everyone sat there awkwardly as my parents never took me to the dentist as a child or teenager. Waiting to get into a club as a...

Re: Bite turbos
I've got bite turbos too. They're more annoying than the actual braces. At the moment I only have the brackets of the upper arch on. No wire yet. I need to get my extractions then go back to put the wire and lower arch in. It's frustrating because it means dealing with them for 8 weeks and I won't e...

Extractions before of after braces?
Hi all , I'm booked in to get my brackets fitted in 27 th July . It's been a loooong wait with a few delays. But I'm a little confused about the order of things. This is my understanding of what we'll be doing: 27th July - fit brackets at orthos After that get extractions at my own dentist After tha...

Re: Should I delay my brace date further?
Thanks for your help guys. I rang the ortho this morning and have postponed. I feel good about it. It's nice not to have the worry. I've also volunteered to make a speech at the wedding :-) New brace date is now 27th July. A little later than I was hoping but that is when my ortho is back in. Also a...

Should I delay my brace date further?
As expected my brace date has been delayed due to incognito (lingual braces) requiring more impressions. I've been getting quite frustrated of late as I originally made the decision to get braces way back in Feb. Everything takes soooo long! Anyway my brace date was 1st June. They've left a voicemai...

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
I'm in the UK; have ceramic upper and lower brackets, estimated treatment time 18 months, estimated cost approx. £3,600. I understand that also includes permanent retainers at the end of treatment, with tooth reshaping. I guess I'll be covering the tooth whitening myself :) Gosh that's much cheaper...

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost
I live in the UK. My total cost was £6000 for lingual on top and clear ceramics in bottom. Metal would have been about £2000 cheaper but I really wanted something more subtle.

Re: The benefits of more than one ortho opinion
I hear that too about the linguals affecting speech more on the bottom. I'm also hoping they'll cut in to my tongue less but we'll see. I'll definitely keep you all updated. Just want to get started now. Feels like forever!
