Yes, Noah is the one with the "cheerleaders syndrome." We found a dentist in colorado who is trying to treat him starting with a palate expander. it was removable, but it broke this week and nobody local can fix it so we have to travel out there this weekend and stay 5 days. It is about 9 ...

Re: Anterior open bite, retreating 20 yrs later, intro and ?
I just wanted to say, AMAZING!! I wanted to send a picture of Noah's mouth and sorry it took me forever. We are in treatment in Denver but things are not moving. Going back out there tomorrow. The travel is killing us financially. Where did you have your treatment done? What appliances did they use?...

Re: Anterior open bite, retreating 20 yrs later, intro and ?
Well, I will say a prayer for that too. I am sorry for the setback. Dr. Lauer is all about slow and steady change too. The first few days with the palate expander sucked, but he is doing so much better now. I have never heard of an acceledent. I will have to google that one. Noah's treatment will be...

Re: Adult Palatal expansion
My son is 16 and wearing a Schwartz expander for his constricted upper jaw. They are doing slow palatal expansion over 9 months then will treat his tongue thrust with a myobrace and he will wear standard braces for his open bite. We may have to use tads at some point or even surgery. Wish us luck.

Have you ever seen the u tube video by park avenue dentists about closing an open bite with orthodontics? It is amazing and I don't think she used tads.

Wow! They are looking great! Yes, I love this forum too. Noah is 16 and if I can figure it out, I will post a picture. Yes, our orthodontist is 9 hours away. :( I just needed someone who had done this before and was willing to try. We have a really young orthodontist at our dentist office. I think s...

Re: non invasive solution possible?
Our new orthodontist uses a Swartz appliance for palate expansion and is trying to close my sons severe, wide, open anterior bite. He will use this combined with myofunctional therapy to correct his tongue thrust. He has a speech person/ myofunctional therapist there in the office who will work with...

Re: Anterior open bite, retreating 20 yrs later, intro and ?
By the way we are seeing Kent Lauson out in Denver. He is going to do his best to do this without surgery, but said he cannot 100% guarantee it. Noah will be in a palate expander for 9 months. He will be turning the key every three days which is a little slower than some, but if it helps with his pa...
