Re: Nostril change?

Absolutely. It was worse with swelling but my nose has changed dramatically. I'm looking at getting a rhinoplasty later this year.

Re: Revision Lefort 1 and plate removal?

I had my lower plates removed at 1.5 years. I was swollen for about 2-3 weeks like I had dental work then back to normal. Procedure is very easy.

Re: Is it true that skin can sag after jaw surgery?

Thanks! I look A LOT better than I did after my jaw surgery. I got fat grafting to my cheeks as well. The impaction and CCW rotation erased my ogee curve and made my whole face a rectangle. Not super attractive for a lady. I'm going to get my nose done because it became a shrek nose after surgery wi...

Re: Upper Jaw Surgery Reversal? Nose question and Depression

Had a similar result. Face looks smushed in lots of photos and I have big pouches in my nasolabial area and next to my mouth. This is due to taking away bony support for my face. Also, I have weak cheekbones so when they brought everything up and forward - it essentially took away any contour to my ...

Re: Finding it really hard to stay positive

I was swollen for a full year. Had a wonky smile until a year and a half. Still can't feel most of my chin/lower lip but I get tiny improvements. Give it time.

Re: Reversing jaw surgery: has anyone ever heard of this?

Hey everyone. I'm a year and a half post-op and things haven't gotten better. I'm seriously considering a revision at this point including downgrafting of my maxilla. I'm realizing I shouldnt have been impacted. I loved my smile before and now I can hardly look at myself in photos. How much does tha...

Re: Plate removal

Thank god for that! I’ve been eating everything except super hard or tough foods. My face is definitely holding onto the swelling - I’m concerned it’s going to last as long as the jaw surgery which was 9months of swelling hell.

Re: Is it true that skin can sag after jaw surgery?

Yes, I had a facelift at 29 to undo the saggy tissues from my jaw surgery. I was impacted 4-5mm.

Plate removal

I’m having my lower jaw plates removed at 18mo post op. The areas where they sit have been sore and look swollen. I’m hoping the pain will go away after removal and I will regain feeling. My surgeon will also contour my bone down since it healed with a huge lump that extends into my mouth. Anyone ha...

Re: SWELLING AND STUGGLES

Lots of physical activity, lots of tumeric and arnica, low sodium. I’m 17 months post op and I still have swollen days. I can look back and see I was still swollen up to a year post op. I looked “normal” around 9 months. You are so so so early on.

Jaw surgery took away "me"

Just wanted to share my experience. I had a borderline gummy canted smile which was impacted 4.5mm on one side 1mm on the other with recessed jaw fixed by BSSO/CCW rotation in August 2016. Since then I've been dealing with the aesthetic outcomes of looking immediately older, heavier and less attract...

Re: Updates after a botched surgery and Ask for suggestions

It definitely doesn't appear ideal, I can clearly see your jaw cant. Have you consulted with Dr Sabol in Phoenix yet? He did my surgery and it went perfectly. He does the OMFS trauma wing at HonorHealth Scottsdale too in addition to his own practice. His bedside manor is amazing. He might be able t...
