BracedAgain - A D date would make my day!!!

My teeth are moving good still... I'm not sure how much longer I have in these braces, everytime I ask the ortho he just tells me my teeth are looking good... I have had cold sores every so often also......I hadn't had one for a couple of years, but after my initial consult I got one on each side of my mouth. When I went in to get my molds taken I still had the two of them....they were brought on by stress.

I had a top wire clipped about 10 days after getting my braces, I am now 6 weeks in and have had no other problems......

Mine do the same thing, I think it just feels tight because your ligaments are moving.....I'm not an ortho, that's just what I thought it was.

Geri - That is not a silly question at all! They kind of tug a little when you talk but the worse part is trying to open your mouth at all. It is just really wierd. They said it will take a few days to get used to them, my teeth are all really tender right now and I have even been taking Ibuprofen.

My ortho gave me gum when I got my braces on, it is for braces. It is called Spry, I chose Spearmint. Here is a link to the site:

Genxsis - I too almost canceled my appointment a couple days before I got my braces on...I'm somewhat glad I didn't. I am doing quite well. I went in Tuesday to get a wire clipped, it was poking my cheek and driving me crazy. They clipped 3 of the 4 and tightened them. If felt good. I am still not eating alot, but have lost 4 pounds, which is fine. My teeth just don't line up like they used to. I will take picture...
