10 days and can see a difference already!

I didn't have the easiest first week, where my bite is so funky the wires and molar bands were really cutting into the back of my mouth. Really really bad pain for a few days. But wax has helped so much, and salt water rinses. I'm finally pain free! (but still can't really eat solids) But, oh my god...

Re: Weight loss

I've had mine for 3 days and lost 4lbs already. I am carrying a lot of baby and Christmas weight so have plenty of fat reserves stored up! I have about 30lbs to lose so I'm hoping braces will help stop me mindlessly snacking.,

Re: They're on - and unpleasant side effect

I can't see pics yet cos I'm new, but I feel the same. My teeth look awful with the braces on, they just seem to accentuate the bad parts, the sticky out parts seem to stick out even more and they just look so awkward and clunky! Fingers crossed it won't take long for this first stage to pass.

Re: Fixed braces and feeling nervous - What to expect & Pain

I'm 25, I put it to the back of my mind for years as I was so scared. I have fillings and had trauma to my front teeth and always had a phobia all my teeth would fall out so rarely went to the dentist! I felt really weird and emotional at first, but I'm much happier now. I'm sure things are moving a...

Re: Underbite, crossbite, crazy teeth!

My upper arch is narrow too and have zero facial symmetry! My ortho and surgeon don't really have a plan as such yet, just that braces and surgery are needed. And possibly a dental implant as I have a tooth missing from treatment when I was a kid. It sounds like they are waiting to see how my teeth ...

Re: Fixed braces and feeling nervous - What to expect & Pain

Today is my third day and there is no pain at all, my mouth just feels tight and itchy! The only time it is uncomfortable is when I try and eat anything so I'm just sticking to liquids at the moment. It's really not been as bad as I imagined. Ibuprofen and early nights has really helped.

Re: Fixed braces and feeling nervous - What to expect & Pain

I was incredibly nervous, hate the dentist, hate anything to do with my teeth. But honestly having the braces fitted really wasn't that bad at all. I had mine fitted yesterday afternoon, I took some painkillers an hour before and I took some before I went to bed. Today I've not taken any. It really ...

Underbite, crossbite, crazy teeth!

Ive hated my smile, my teeth and my face for as long as I can remember. I recently turned 25 and am finally embarking on my long, probably complicated journey to my perfect smile. I have an underbite so will require double jaw surgery, I also have a crossbite so my front teeth are nowhere near centr...
