Re: Blow jobs and lingual braces question!!

I have traditional braces and I've had two TADs in my palate for a few months - haven't dared to blow. Yesterday got lingual brackets on upper 2nd premolars - now those are some sharp bastards, tongue feels shredded. Deffo out of the question now. But every mouth is different (and I'm sure there are...

Re: Eye Twitching After First Adjustment

The eye twitching is something that happens to quite a lot of people at some point in their life. It's very likely it doesn't have anything to do with braces or adjustment.
Sometimes it seems to be related to stress, which, in turn, can be triggered by worrying too much about braces.

Re: Facial changes with braces (not that happy)

The professor has a sound logic - teeth move within the jawbone and can't change the bone structure. It's just almost impossible. Now, the way you look also depends on the soft tissues (basically muscles and fat). You say you haven't lost weight. I would venture a wild guess that as your teeth move ...

Re: TAD removal.

I have four screws to be removed at some point. Supposedly it's a really easy procedure, just some local anaesthetic, and it heals really quickly. Even less fuss than having them placed.

Re: Teeth look gray with braces

Hey! Braces can't bruise your teeth and there's nothing going on inside the teeth. There's no reason why the actual colour of teeth would change. Perhaps you're right, the powerchain is reflecting off your teeth. You don't mention what kind of braces you got. It could be that the contrast between th...

Re: Help! How can I relieve this swelling?

Hey!
I can't see pics due to too few posts, but you should tell your dentist. There's a relatively simple procedure to treat tight frenulum, and it would be more than indicated if it becomes inflamed easily.

Re: Colgate Total Pro Gum mouthwash?

Hello, Jainus! The staining ingredients can be cetylpyridinium chloride or chlorhexidine gluconate. It is said, the staining means the teeth have not been cleaned well enough, but with braces it seems more of a rule than exception. The staining is worst when you start using the new mouthwash and les...

Re: Coil spring problem

There are two types of springs - open coil and closed coil. Open coil is used to open up spaces, closed coil is used to prevent from spaces from closing (or if there's no space, they might be used to prevent distance between two brackets from reducing). So it might be you actually have closed coils ...

Re: Implant - powerchain elastic pressing in on gum

Hey! The problem has probably resolved itself by now, but just wanted to say, that I had exactly the same problem - had a power chain running between two mini-screws and it was pressing into my gum quite bad. Not sure if the power chain loosened a bit, the tooth moved or I got used to it, but hasn't...
