Re: One week down!
I had a very similar pain in about the same spot as you are describing. It was VERY sensitive to cold and would hurt when I brushed and flossed too. I found myself drinking water with no ice because the pain was so bad! It would also sort of come and go every few days (or be less painful every few d...

Re: Braceface at 31
congrats on getting braces! It also took me years to go through with wisdom teeth extractions and braces due to dental anxiety, but going to the dentist and ortho gets just a little bit easier every time! They are starting to be less scary to me as time goes on. Good luck and it's going to be worth ...

Re: "But your teeth are fine! Why waste money?"
I get comments like that all the time! It was really starting to get on my nerves when people would say "I didn't notice you needed them" or "Your teeth don't look that bad." The comments are not helpful people! I've just started ignoring those comments b/c people don't see or kn...

Re: Braces Newbie at 30!
I got a thicker wire on last week (.018 I think). My front teeth were definitely pretty sore for a few days, but are feeling much better now. I am finally starting to really notice my two front teeth uncrossing! Yay! I'm also noticing little gaps between a few teeth, esp the front teeth. The only an...

Re: Extraction of 4 bicuspids while awake
I can only speak to the recovery part...I went to an oral surgeon to have all my 2nd premolars extracted. I have dental anxiety and didn't want to hear any sounds or feel any pressure. My medical insurance actually covered that, rather than my dental insurance. I'm sure you'll be fine with local if ...

Re: The Professor's Story of Braces at 40 (with pics)
Wow! Your progress is very encouraging! :) I also have a tooth on the bottom that is hanging out behind the rest of my teeth. I hope when I get my bottom arch on mine will move as quickly as yours did! Well, maybe not in 7 hours, but hopefully it will be visible progress to get me more excited about...

Thanks for the support! I am so happy I went with the damon clear brackets and that I don't have those ligs with them too! Small victories are important during this process.

Braces Newbie at 30!
Howdy! I am new to braces at 30! I have always wanted/needed to get them, but finally got around to it at 30! My parents couldn't afford it growing up and I'm a procrastinator with mild dental anxiety as an adult, so it's taken me a while. Ha! I have had braces for 6 weeks now after getting 4 premol...
