Re: Extraction positives, celebrities with extractions!
Thank you for starting this thread; it's a very good counterpoint to the significant number of threads warning of inevitable Doom and Gloom should you allow an orthodontist to extract teeth. i dont know what aboth other people who do extractions. but i do it. but only 2 in the upper jaw. 1 on side....

It depends on y...

Re: use only permanent retainer.
Troubled, my understanding is that a permanent retainer is supposed to help keep your teeth in place in conjunction with using a removable retainer. The removable retainer is what's most important, as it's going to keep your teeth in the correct position better than a permanent retainer alone, espe...

Re: use only permanent retainer.
If you continue to think that you can live with only your permanent retainer, whatever people say is not going to change your mind. Why bother asking for opinions when you're not going to accept it? Go ahead, don't wear your removable retainer, then come back in a few months time and update us on y...

Re: use only permanent retainer.
While my Essix didn't gag me, it did bite into my gums. A few minutes with a knife by the ortho and it was all fixed. Whatever you do, ASK your ortho; it's part of what you've paid for! (And do this soon! Relapse happens the fastest right after the braces come off.) This is totally the WRONG place ...

Re: use only permanent retainer.
Sorry to be blunt, but you want someone here to tell you that it's okay to ignore your ortho and only wear your bonded retainers. But the thing is, it isn't okay. And you really need to go and explain the problem to your ortho. People are trying to prevent you from being back here again in braces l...

Re: use only permanent retainer.
It is a really bad idea to not use your removable retainers. The permanent only holds certain teeth. I have seen photos of people who have worn only the permanent and the teeth not attached to a permanent, caved in. Why risk it? I also know people with permanent retainers and their teeth have also ...

Re: Retainer (orthodontics)
Troubled, This is a complex issue that has been discussed many times on this forum. For starters, I'd recommend you do what I did when I started bracess and do a search on "retainers" that is found on the first or landing page of this forum. And even before that I'd strongly recommend tha...

Retainer (orthodontics)
At the end of orthodontic treatment, I have to put i think its call Retainer for keeping teeth.
I have a question about it.
It bothers tongue position right? Should assume the tongue, on the roof of the mouth. It bothers it? Or it does not affect / blocks
