Re: Silicone wax questions....

I wouldn't recommend it. The few times I forgot to take it off, I actually swallowed it. Kind of gross. I doesn't stay on when you are chewing.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's been ages since my last post, but I wanted to wish every one a happy new year and give an update. At my last visit, dentist said he is beyond pleased with my progress and that of the original 13-18 month timeline he gave me, we will be very close to 13 months. So that is around the end of summe...

Re: Bracing myself at 53!

Happy New Year to you too! I definitely will be getting mine off in 2015. At last visit, dentist said he is beyond pleased with my progress and that of the original 13-18 month timeline he gave me, we will be very close to 13 months. So that is around the end of summer. My bottom teeth are almost co...

Re: Bracing myself at 53!

I will have had mine on 6 months the end of November and I'm feeling very impatient to see some big changes. My dentist points out that they have moved, but since I look at them every day I don't see the subtle changes. Only 2 wire changes so far, but I do have wire ligaments on some of my bottom te...

Re: Bracing myself at 53!

I can relate about not seeing any changes. I got top and bottom braces with a bite plate for my overbite in June. A week after getting everything, my dentist took off my archwires to force my molars to "super erupt" correcting my bite faster so I could get the bite plate out, because I abs...

Re: Archwires put back on today!!

My teeth and jaw were really sore for the first 2-3 days after the wires were put back on. There's no pain now except when I bit down when I eat and for a little while afterwards, but it's definitely bearable. So I expect that they will be sore for the first few days after every adjustment, like eve...

Archwires put back on today!!

It's been over awhile since I posted, because there really wasn't much to say and my computer has been on the blink. So here is my update: 2 months ago I got a biteplate to correct my severe overbite and prevent my top teeth from knocking my bottom braces off. After a week, the wires holding it in p...

Re: Braces and low carb diet

http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=47276 Kelly, not sure if this link works or whether there is a better way to do it. I do hope you're feeling better from your virus now. I recall that last time I had something like that, the only thing I could face for a few days after was b...

Re: Braces and low carb diet

These all sound delicious and I am excited to try them. I've had a very nasty intestinal virus for the past several days, so fresh veg is totally out of the question. But I am anxious to get back to my normal diet. I did have a cheeseburger and a grilled chicken sandwich on a pretzel but the other d...

Thanks! I have alternating pink & orange right now. It's a little too much for me for the top, so I think I'm going to stick with pink on top and then get a little crazier on the bottom ones from now on.

Re: Depressed in the beginning?

Things are getting better. I've adjusted to using my waterpik whenever I eat anything and I've realized there really isn't as much food caught in my braces as it feels like there is. Change of any kind throws me for a loop. As far as eating, it actually is getting easier too. I treated myself to a h...

Re: Newbie Spacer Question

Thanks all. I'll just leave it alone for now. Sounds to me like it totally depends on the case. I'm sure they know what they are doing. I think I've already aggravated my Ortho by asking questions about stuff I've read online. They don't seem to like the internet. That's a shame that your ortho doe...

Re: Day 1 with top braces - WOW!

I am getting spacers put in next Monday but mine will be in for almost 11 days before I get braced and I am not sure if I will get both top and bottom or just one of them. Your smile looked pretty good before but you are probably like me with a bite that needs fixing real bad. I never thought I rea...
