Congrats on your Brace Day! You'll be up to normal, non puried, soup before you know it!

I had a pretty bad lisp with the expander I had last year but even with that I was able to stop it after a couple of months. You don't have a metal cage in the roof of your mouth so you will be sounding totally normal very quickly!

Good news! She took it out! Sure there is still a lot of metal in there but having one less piece feels great!

I am really nervous and excited about my adjustment tomorrow! I think there is a good chance that I will be getting my palatial expander out before Christmas! My ortho, (who is by the way, also my girlfriend's mom), seems to think it could be getting close. If this happens it will really be the firs...

Ugh....yep....that is what is up there. It is so awful. It "only" supposed to be in for six months. I had no idea it would mess up my speech like this. I go back to school in August so I hope I can at least talk half normal then. I am glad you survived it....I hope I do too!

Thanks! I hope it flies by too! It was kind of a surprise, but he talked about it some before but there was so much going on in the appointments I had trouble keep up with it all. I don't want to say anything with an "s" in it...but it seems like it all sounds awful now.

Thanks guys! Well, I am officiall braced! It took longer than it was supposed to because he ended up putting in a palatial expander too. So I am glad I am typing this instead of trying to speak it! My mouth is so freaking full of metal now I feel like I can barely close it and the aching that starte...

I am getting braced in the morning too! Sounds like we have similar stories...I had four extractions too but my overbite and cross bite is bad...my ortho is saying 30 months. I am nervous....I guess I better eat a twix before bed!:)

Sorry to hear about that! My brace day is tommorrow, along with a power chain, so just think about how you don't have as bad as I will for a while! hope you get to feeling better!

I went with the mexican......chicken chimi....fajita nachos!!! I didn't get into the long story, but I had to already have four teeth extracted. My ortho say at least 30 months if everything goes ok, but it could be 36 months if my teeth are "stubborn"...whatever that means! I know I will ...
