Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
Can't believe it's been a year since I got my braces - and I didn't realise it's been so long since my last post! Things have been going along nicely, I've had extra hooks added to the arch-wire (as if there aren't enough on them already!) and have had different configurations of elastics and power ...

Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
Hi Aviol - lovely to hear from you, how are things going with you and your journey? Things are good here, although I understand now when people say there isn't much to report after the initial "wow" of having braces on!! It's now been 7 months and I've just had another adjustment - I've go...

Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
I had big ideas of experimenting with coloured ligs, but I drink a lot of coffee (and red wine!!) and eat a lot of tomato based pastas - I'm really worried about them staining. I might ask to have just one bracket with a different colour and see how it fares! Yes, hoping for more progress from next ...

Hi Neil - sounds like things are going well. I've been following your story for a while so yes, would be good to see progress pictures.
Is your bite settling down now? Mine is totally off since my last adjustment !!

Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
Just a quick update after my 3rd adjustment (approx 4 months into my treatment). I've had my 2 lower extractions, which again went very smoothly. They actually seemed to heal quicker than the upper extraction - but I think I'm less fixated on my teeth now than as I was at the beginning!!! There isn'...

Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
Just had my second adjustment and my Ortho has now confirmed what my lower extractions will be - 2 pre-molars (number 5's) instead of the 1 incisor (which was the other option). She said there is just not enough room in my lower arch. I'd sort of realised it would go that way - and I am missing 2 up...

Re: My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
Thanks everyone - I am really pleased with everything so far. I must admit that when they were first put on, I thought - what a jumbled mess!! But my teeth are very crooked/crowded and I'm now doing something about it, so I got past that pretty quickly. I'm still glad I went with metal braces - I mo...

My Story - aged 40, UK (with pics)
I've just had my first adjustment and thought this would be a great time to start my own "story". Background info on starting my journey can be found here: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=47045 I've found my braces OK so far - no pain just pressure, I've had to use...

Rice pudding - and thankfully my extraction gap is still too large for it to get trapped in!!

Re: Feeling a bit anxious, not sure why
I think it is natural to go through stages like this - although I'm only just starting out on my journey, I have read many people's stories on here and there seems to be a lot of occasions where progress levels out and not much seems to happen. I'm just over a week in with my braces and am impatient...

Re: A Whole New World
Congratulations - you've now started your journey. I'm almost a week in with my braces and I'm loving it - although I'm sure I look like a camel when I chew food!!!
Do you know when you'll be getting your lowers yet?
Look forward to sharing ups and downs

Re: Fastbraces / 6 Month Smiles / Traditional Ortho
Woo-hoo - they're on :-** http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a525/kelly7474/Teeth/Before/Day1_zpsa5ebc69a.jpg I was in and out of the Ortho's office within an hour and it was really straightforward putting them on. I found the mouth opener thingy OK, the glue was a bit foul tasting but I'm sure som...

Re: Fastbraces / 6 Month Smiles / Traditional Ortho
The extraction went really well last week - it only took her a minute to pull it out. I had a little bit of tenderness that evening, but then it was fine the next day. It is a little worrying though on how much of a gap there is to close (my teeth have got a long way to move round)!!! http://i1282.p...
