Re: Severe crowding – confused about the different treatment

I can speak from experience as i had 4 teeth extracted before having my braces on. It was absolutely fine. I too had severe crowding and honestly couldnt see how they could even consider straigtening them without removing some teeth - there just wasnt enough room!! Im now 13 months into my estimated...

Re: How Long Did It Take...

I have to say i've not had any issues at all. No stumbling of words or anything. There is a woman at work who also has a brace but she appears to be struggling. It looks like her lips are trying hard to stretch over her braces which in turn makes it difficult to talk normally. I dont have that probl...

Re: To brace or not to brace? UK Newbie 32 Fast Braces

She's back! :D Glad to hear you're back on track. The 'gappy look' is in this year so dont worry too much about that. Think Vanessa Paradis! :D Just go around singing Joe le Taxi. (you'll have to Youtube it if you're too young!) I had four of those gaps + holes. 9 months later they are very nearly g...

Re: debrace in 2 month and i still have a couple black trian

Im in the same situation. 4 teeth removed. As my two front teeth have moved i have a big black triangle as they are bell shaped, so thin at the top and wider at the bottom where they meet. I discussed it with my ortho and decided to go for IPR to make them less 'bell like'! I dont think it will remo...

Re: Forum noob

Yeah it can be sore after an adjustment. Im 8 months in now and that doesnt change! :(

Regarding cleanliness, i use those interdental brushes and a waterfloss, followed by a good brushing and then mouthwash. Eveything is fine. :D

Did'nt notice any movement at first and to be honest when he took them out i still didnt think there was enough room made........but there was! Patience is key. :D There never looks like much movemen...

Re: 6 Month Update - With Pictures!

Great progress! :) btw did you get any teeth extracted? Yes, i had 4 teeth removed. 2 from the top & 2 from the bottom. I had an adjustment last week and apparently i'm 4-6 months ahead of schedule! I have another appointment before Christmas where he will consider IPR to close up the t...

I had my braces put on and THEN had 4, yes 4 teeth removed! The pulling of them want bad at all, the next few hours afterwards wasn't pleasant but it soon passes! Oh and i am 37 so not too far off your age too.

All good fun in the end! :D

Re: What is your daily Smilie?

Im 6 months in & can honestly say im so used to them now that i forget i have them most of the time.

A few days after an adjustment they will be sensitive, but apart from that it's not affecting me much at all.

On that basis, I'll give it a

Re: Treatment plan question...

Not sure to be honest but mine put my top brace on with a very slim wire before i even had my extractions done! Made for an interesting extraction! I think they all have differing ways of doing things, but they are the professionals. That said if your not sure, keep asking. Your teeth - your money! ...

Re: Leeds dental hospital?

Are you talking about Leeds in the UK? I dont think there are too many people from the UK on here (although i have seen a few more recently - myself included!) To answer your question though - no! I havent heard of any opinions on Leeds Dental Hospital. I'm sure it will be fine though. A quick...

6 Month Update - With Pictures!

So everyone loves a good picture update. I know when i was looking on here before getting braces i always headed for the picture threads first to see what just could happen! So now it's my turn. 6 months in and it been a pretty amazing transformation so far. Still a way to go and gaps to close up et...

Re: tomorrow is the big day

The sensitivity will die down over time. Im about 5 months in now (aged 37) and can eat pretty much anything i want. Having said that apples or anything that requires a hard bite on the front two teeth is tricky. Just to clarify - i didnt take 5 months to die down - took about a week! :D I get a ver...

Another recommendation for the nail clippers here too!

It drove me to distraction one day so i stormed in the bathroom and attacked it with the clippers - instant relief! :D
