Re: open bite progress after 7 months

Your results so far are great! I have a crossbite, openbite, and overjet, so I'm really inspired by your story! I just got my braces on two days ago, and I'm anxious to start seeing results.

Re: Crossbite, openbite, and overjet, oh my!

Ugh, that taste WAS bad! Luckily it was over quickly! I am so ready to be able to eat solid food again. My teeth are still too sensitive to bite anything on day 3. And I'm not loving the painfulness of brushing my teeth, either. But it will all be worth it in the end!

Re: Crossbite, openbite, and overjet, oh my!

Oh gosh! I should have paid attention to EVERYONE who said "the first couple days hurt" and "don't try to chew anything." I tried to eat some ice cream last night, but it had tiny chocolate chips in it...NOPE! My mouth hurt so bad this morning that it woke me up, but luckily, a c...

Re: Crossbite, openbite, and overjet, oh my!

Thanks for the support everyone! I went to the orthodontist this morning and....they're in! My mouth feels very big and awkwardly full of spit. The process went well. Insignia uses a series of "jigs" to place the brackets in precise locations. Two of my brackets didn't adhere properly, so ...

Crossbite, openbite, and overjet, oh my!

Hi all, I will be updating my progress here. I went on several consultations before picking the perfect orthodontist for me, and I'm excited (and nervous) to start my treatment next Monday! I have a crossbite (my upper arch is narrower than my bottom arch), as well as an openbite and overjet. I was ...

Haha, I don't have a Waterpik yet (don't even have my braces on yet!) but without this advice, I think I would make a huge mess! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Oil swishing Jawercerciser

I don't have my braces on yet, but I swish coconut oil for about 15 minutes every morning, too. It's made a big difference in my gum health and tartar control. I was wondering if I would have to stop once I get my braces. I wasn't sure if it would damage the adhesive or anything, but so far I haven'...

Re: Newbie! 24 years old and making a change!

[quote="Anna5"]Hello and welcome to the forum! It seems like we are in the same boat, I also have an open bite, crossbite and a bit of an overjet (from thumbsucking). I am also trying to get it corrected without surgery (ortho had initially recommended surgery) and I have seen a huge impro...

Newbie! 24 years old and making a change!

Hi all, My name is Julie, I'm 24 and live in Virginia. I've always had an overjet since I was young, and I'm finally in a position where I can fix it. I went to four orthodontists in the area before picking one I liked. They all had such different opinions! From 12 months to 2.5 years, from braces t...
