Thanks! I'm not sure how much longer. I was given an estimate of 18 months, which would be December, so I'm still assuming something on that timeline.AlexO890 wrote:Your teeth are looking really straight! How much longer do you have to go?

Re: Interproximal reduction
I had IPR twice to remove black triangles between teeth. I personally am not a fan of permanently removing bits of teeth, no matter how small they are. With that, I still let my ortho do it because it does look a lot better... he did give me the option to not do it, but I want to do this the right w...

Re: Visible Elastics...
So I've just had my second adjustment done (Damon, upper clear, lower metal), been wearing single elastics hooked over teeth further back. Now they are in a new position, a triangle shape looping over my front canines - so quite visible when I speak, laugh, unless I really try to just mumble! I've ...

Re: Sunshiney Saga
It now says it covers braces for ANY AGE! Grrrrrr! :-+ I checked before and it was only kids. I know this is super late, but I had the same thing happen to me. My insurance just started covering any age in January. I also feel cheated :? Congrats on your debracing though! Can't wait to see pics!

Re: chichi is braced!
9th adjustment was another repositioning appointment. Ortho repositioned my top right central and top left lateral, and It looks like my lower arch is basically done. He told me we're just around the corner now, so that's exciting. I still don't ask exactly when I'll be finished because it'll happen...

Congrats on being braced! I was also a clencher at first and I still am after some of my adjustments. It just feels so good!

Nothing was as painful as getting those rectangular wires. All your future rectangular wires, powerchains, and elastics will be a piece of cake (sort of)

Re: Rubber bands
I have triangle "rabbit" elastics on both sides. I have been wearing them for something like 8 months now and I dislike them very much. I was very good about wearing them for the first 6 months or so, but I must admit I've been slacking a lot lately

Re: chichi is braced!
I'll have to post pictures later, but I had my 8th adjustment last Thursday. The ortho did a little more IPR between the top front teeth because there was still a very small black triangle. It looks like it should be gone now. I got fresh powerchains that now fully span both arches. I'm in a new sta...

Re: I never thought I'd say this...
Oh my gosh, I literally just wrote about the same exact thing in my braces story yesterday! Biting the inside of my lip has been, by far, the most painful part of this whole experience. I had never seen anyone with the same problem and I'm glad I'm not alone (although I'm sorry you get to be the one...

Re: chichi is braced!
I want to rip these things out of my mouth. Every time I'm chewing anything, the inside of my lip gets caught between my top front teeth and the bottom braces. Literally EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Nothing in this whole process has hurt as much as constantly biting the same spot over and over and over.

Re: Midline elastics question
That's good to know. Did you experience your bite being off with the Class III? The two teeth clashing together is driving me crazy! But the ortho put bends in the archwire on that side so I'm assuming the bends will try to move one of the teeth on the lower jaw so it won't clash with the tooth on ...

Re: Midline elastics question
Hello all: I had an adjustment today. Orthodontist gave me only one elastic to wear on my left side, in a Class III configuration to correct the midline. This seems a bit odd to me because everything I've read about midline correction online states that I need to have the elastic configuration that...

Re: chichi is braced!
Awesome progress chichi! I'm glad your gap has closed. :) Question for you. It was my understanding that folks with Damons go much longer between adjustments - six or even eight weeks. You seem to be going once a month or so. Any idea about why your visits are so frequent? Thanks parsleysage! I was...
