I started off wearing my retainers but stopped after a while which probably hasn't helped.

100% gets better, I always found the elastic bands to be the most painful part as I could almost feel my teeth being pulled down.

Mine have been an awful yellow colour ever since I had my braces off as a teenager.
Blame myself entirely though!
