Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Jaime

Just watched your video. A little swollen but not too bad; better than what I was thinking.

Good luck with your TADs

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Actual width? I'd be happy with any! But guessing I'll need 6mm or so; more would be better. Large tongue; small jaws and I'll never have a stable bite until my upper and lowers stay together instead of me needing to stick my tongue between them. Tongue needs to hold the space against teeth and the ...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

The previous orthos "knew what I needed" without any input from me. I always knew I needed more width but they all blew me off. Hope we can move forward in the right direction from here. I just want things done right at this point. Years ago I should have been more proactive in what I need...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Well...

SARPE is now on the table. Things settling way too narrow. Wish we had done SARPE before double jaw; but better late than never.

Unfortunately first available appt is late November.

It never ends...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

It never really ends... Back into Invisalign to move some teeth into better position for a more stable bite. Probably add some bonding to the back of my canines to keep the space. Mornings are good after retainers all night; but by night time my fronts are hitting. Starts in about 3 weeks. At least ...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

It's sounded like a new material to me. I'll know more in a few weeks. The Dr thing; a lot of Drs retired or left the profession in my area. I think we have something like 5-8 rheumatologists to serve a population of almost a million; including the surrounding counties. Even if you find a good one; ...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

It's been a minute since I've checked in. Jaime; at least you have a reason for the why. Just need a direction to move forward... Keep us updated on your decision. Snap; hope you find someone that can help with the numbness and the other stuff too. Finding good Drs is even more difficult over the la...

My last appt with my ortho; we added elastics with my aligner style retainers because my teeth are still shifting.

Might have to talk to him about bonded retainers or lingual arch wires because wearing the elastics is a PITA

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Just generally congested; decreased airflow which makes me immediately go to mouth breathing. Turbinate reductions only last 5-7 years and then they grow back. Fixing the septum and doing a clean out should open things up again. Unfortunately they can't expend my upper palate (because of my lower ar...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Thought I'd stop in today after my ortho appt... Getting my deviated septum fixed (again) and some bone spurs removed from my nasal passages in November. Hoping he will remove the front plates while he's in there; to remove a potential source of infection...The SARPE can't be done because my lower j...

Re: Back pain/body posture and jaw surgery

There could be improvements in the forward head carry position due to mouth breathing; and no longer needing to do that as much which could help other back issues.

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

I have an appt with my ortho thursday to see if everyone is on the same page and if everyone believes this will have enough benefit for the risk. The deviated septum and turbinate reduction is relatively low risk. For me to get SARPE; they'll have to remove the plates from the previous surgery and m...

Re: June/July 2015 Surgery Buddies

Jaime hope they sort things out for you. And the TMJ issues get fixed. Snap I understand about the nasal congestion. I guess we’re getting the band back together. Had an appt with my max/fac surgeon. And an ENT. SARPE is on the table as well as an ENT fixing my deviated septum(again) and reducing tu...
