Getting a permanent retainer put in a month before braces removed

As I near the end of my treatment in Clarity SL ceramic upper and lower I have a question that I cannot seem to find information/answers to.... At my last adjustment my Orthodontist had an impression/mould taken of my lower teeth and informed me that at my next appointment in 4weeks he would be putt...

Re: How Long Off Work?

Hi Sparkles... I'm scheduled for BSSO on September 3rd and have been told to expect at least a 6 to 8 week recovery period before going back to work due to the physically demanding nature of my job
Wishing you a successful surgery and s speedy recovery!

Re: question about ankyloses

He did put two tiny metal tubes clamped around the archwire on either side of this tooth. Any idea what these are for? They are tiny. Those tiny metal clamps or "stops" are put there to limit the archwire from sliding or moving in the bracket slot of the bracket..... I have several of the...

Re: Black Triangles - Bonding Not Working

Sorry to hear that... May I please ask which teeth/where the bonding was placed...? I currently have significant size black triangles (which opened up as my teeth started to straighten) between both central incisors and their adjacent lateral incisors... Still hoping to avoid veneers too....

"Propel" - treatment to speed up teeth movement

Just wondering if anyone has experience of "Propel" treatment....???? Would appreciate any information about the procedure (pain/discomfort levels?) and results (faster movement of "stubborn" teeth?) Thank you!

No, me neither when that time eventually comes....

Re: Fidget's story

You are continuing your really good, steady progress and looking great! :jump: I understand the frustration of how sloooooooow it feels even though others see and tell you how much movement there has been.... Your Orthodontist must think so too if your next adjustment is on the 23rd :) I'm @ 12weeks...

Eggs, fish, avocados and Greek yoghurt are a few of my "soft food faves" which don't require much painful chewing :)

Re: The dreaded "Black Triangles"

Interproximal reduction - a procedure (often used in Invisalign cases) in which part of the thickness of a tooth's enamel is trimmed where space is needed for orthodontic realignment. Basically your orthodontist polishes away small amounts of enamel to help your teeth fit together better - but using...

No more waking up with my lips "glued" to my brackets. . How right you are!!!!! Can I add to that the seemingly never ending dry lips all day causing them to stick on the brackets when trying to talk....???? So not attractive.... I must have chap stick and little boxes of that sil...

Re: The dreaded "Black Triangles"

I may go with veneers in the future, but do not want to end up with an unnatural look. I see people all the time who look like they have fake teeth due to their veneers or crowns. Agreed.... and there is no going back after teeth are prepped for veneers since you lose so much (though it's a "s...
