My last ortho visit. I sit down. Doc was like, do you want these off right now? Well how could I say no! So that was a nice surprise. It was a pretty quick process. The top ceramic ones hurt a bit to take off though. The gluing of the bonded retainer and the grinding was kind of uncomfortable but so...

I have the same problem only with my right side. There is this big red circle..it kept scabbing up as well. The OS told me to rub polysporin on it or Vitamin E..it's not really going away and I'm almost 8 weeks post op grr..so I know how you feel!

I had tight elastics for 1 week after..after that i've had one on each side..and still have them..5 weeks in. Tomorrow I'm seeing my OS..so something might change.

Wow that's an early surgery! Don't worry about being scared..you are not alone with that one. I was absolutley terrified before my surgery too. I just had my lower jaw advanced a month ago now. I think I had my impressions 2 weeks or so before surgery. I think they like to keep the time in between as close as possible so the surgeon knows exactly what he's dealing with. The impressions weren't that bad..they were really sticky tho..they were kinda hard to get out and all the gunk gets caug...

For the first few days I lived off of Boost and soup broth...after a week when I got looser elastics I've been eating pasta, chicken, rice, soup..basically anything as long as I cut it up into teeny pieces and just swallow it.

Lol my stepmom had 1 tooth pulled the other day and she was like yeah I know exactly how you feel..I can't really eat either. I'm like...yeah, uh huh..I wish..they sawed threw bone..you can eat in a couple days..me a few weeks.
