Jaw sagging
After getting my braces off I seem to look much older. My jaws are now pouchy on the side corners of my mouth, the corners of my lower lip are now turned down and caved in with a constant frown, and my profile is now flat with the lower lip protruding out. Obviously, this is not what I had expected....

Dissatisfied
What do you do if you are dissatisfied with the final result? Recently got braces off and am very dissatisfied with the vertical. Teeth are too far apart vertically, especially in the front. I complained of not being able to bite using my front teeth just one week before braces were taken off, yet t...

Re: After braces abit dissapointed.
Having same issue, I have to over close my mouth for my teeth to touch and to chew. It causes much discomfort and is not aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.

Ortho for vertical adjustment only
Has anyone had braces for vertical adjustment only? Recently got braces off and am unhappy with the vertical. Teeth seem too far apart vertically. Would I have to get braces again, or is there another form of treatment like an appliance?

Can super eruption happen in retention phase?
Braces are off but can barely see teeth unless smiling. Not happy with outcome. Is there any way to encourage the front teeth to erupt some ( uppers lower and lowers higher)? Was instructed to wear hawley retainers half the time and an essix on top for the other half of the day. Was also instructed ...

Flat profile
I got my braces off. At first glance they seemed okay, not great, but something seemed off. There seems to be alot of space vertically and the teeth look to forward and low on the bottom and too back and high on the top. I now have a flat profile. Any ideas why and can that be fixed with the retainer?

Re: Settling after braces
Are you in Hawley retainers or Essex? I have been reading that they make a difference in settling. Did your molars erupt more or did they move with the gum?

Settling after braces
What does "settling" mean in the retention phase? Will teeth move vertically? My lower teeth seem too low and upper teeth seem too high now. Will they move vertically? Will lip support improve over time in the retention phase?
