So other than dry lips and raw cheeks the first week or so, life with braces has been pretty normal. Now all of a sudden my teeth are SO sensitive to cold. Like BAD. Drinking anything with ice is completely put of the question and even I have to use warm water while brushing my teeth. Did this happe...

I'm not sure either. I'm sure they can't with brackets on so idk. I'm certainly going to ask.

I feel happy when I run into someone else with braces.

I've had my braces about 3 weeks now and They never did do an impresssion. Weird.

While I still constantly use lip stuff, they are MUCH better now. Thanks for all of the tips.

Why are my lips constantly dry since I've gotten my braces? I know there has to be a good reason. What do you use? I've tried Burt's bees, Carmex, Chapstick, coconut oil, and aquaphor lip stuff. I need something else as I'm constantly reaching for something to stay on that works. What's your favorite?

I can't help you with the first part but I'm going through the same thing with the second part. Waiting on my bottom braces as well. I've talked to people that had theirs on within 3 months of the top and others who had waited a year + before the teeth had shifted enough for bottoms.

I am WAY less self conscious about my smile now that I have braces. Before, when I was laughing or smiling big, and noticed, I would instantly try to stop. Now that I have braces, I don't bother. I've also stopped snacking as I cant imagine cleaning my teeth after snacking as well, that would mean I would spend my whole day cleaning teeth. I eat 3 square meals a day and clean after eating. It's a lot of work; brushing, flossing and mouth wash so I totally avoid snacking and it has been good...

That is great to hear! I'm not worried and it's not painful, just different. It's amazing how braces work!
