Re: Teeth settling and Essix retainers
I've been wearing Essix since august and I'm still having issues with my molars touching. It's slowly getting better but it's still an issue. Does it get better during the day if you aren't wearing your retainers? What did your ortho say? I'm considering Hawley as they supposedly allow for a more n...

Re: Teeth settling and Essix retainers
I am not certain, but I think I would put a call in to your orthodontist -- it's possible that the retainer is not fitting correctly. I am not familiar with the idea that the Essix won't allow molars to settle, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. I had an Essix for several months while I was await...

Teeth settling and Essix retainers
Hi all, I was debonded a week ago and enjoyed seven days of metal-free teeth. At first not all my molars touched but after a few days everything became MUCH more comfortable. Today I started with Essix retainers and now my teeth can't close as easily with or without the retainers. Is this what peopl...

Re: Bracket placement - opinions needed
Of course, I'm not about to start moving brackets on my own. Just looking for other opinions - it's not like an ortho has never made a mistake!djspeece wrote:I think I would take my ortho's guidance since she has the training and experience.

Bracket placement - opinions needed
Hi all, I've had surgery to correct my bite, but now my top teeth hit the bottom brackets. I feel that the brackets on the bottom teeth are placed too high, however, my ortho indicated that she thought it would be fixed by putting some elastics further back. What do you think? http://s14.postimg.org...

Re: Going out for meals?
Don't let it stop you! I almost always bring a toothbrush and have water handy to rinse. No one should really notice anything different. The worst part is when you go out just after a adjustment and you can't order what you want

Re: Is there a reason we don't mention doctors names
My surgeon's office was initially slow to reply, but once they know you are serious about surgery they should be more timely. Post-surgery I have my surgeons mobile and can text him about any issues. He gets back to me straight away.

Re: Mouth Soreness
It gets better, remember to eat soft foods for about 2-3 days after each adjustment and you will be fine. Soon you won't even know they're on there :)

Teeth cleaned by dentist after surgery - how soon?
Has anyone been informed about how soon they can have a cleaning done after surgery? Once this splint comes out I think I will really need one!

Re: What reactions have you had about your braces?
I was surprised that almost no-one noticed my braces. Usually after talking to them for 10-15 minutes they would notice, and even then it was more of a question - "do you have braces"? Pretty good I think!

Re: Opinions sought on underbite (pic)
[quote="sirwired"]From the pic, the dx and treatment plan look pretty reasonable. Except for the underbite, it's pretty similar to mine. You may want to ask if it's possible to treat with only upper. My goatee did a lot to hid my lower rightward cant, and the OS said he could get functiona...

No one?
Happy to hear opinions from anyone thinking of doing the same, or has done it already.
