Re: 10 Days Post-OP (Upper Jaw Surgery Advancement)

Guys, this is bothering the everloving **** out of me. Here's a day 14 pic: http://i.imgur.com/YYmgReQ.jpg The jawline asymmetry is pretty blatant (to me, at least). My cheeks look somewhat normal, my nose looks pretty normal...but that freaking jawline. There's such an obvious discrepancy between b...

10 Days Post-OP (Upper Jaw Surgery Advancement)

Hey everyone, it's a great feeling to finally hit the double-digit mark for days since surgery! :) It's been a slow but steady process, but everything is finally starting to return to normal (kind of). After surgery I couldn't feel my right cheek at all, and now it's only slightly numb (though the r...

Re: Surgery hooks

They aren't uncomfortable at all, I never noticed them. They're taken off after your orthodontist decides you can stop wearing rubber bands, which is usually 4-6 weeks depending on the surgery.
Braces aren't really for stabilization, they're for movement. Sounds like you want something more like a retainer, maybe?
Yeah, this sounds about right. OP you really should see a dentist, orthodontist, etc. Something. That sounds like a pretty serious medical pro...

Re: Issues with jaw since adolescence, now adult.

Do you have insurance that would pay for the surgery? If so, do it ASAP. The surgery changes optimizes your appearance, which in turn gives you a huge confidence boost, which in turn enhances your personality! There is NO reason to do it if the cost is covered. If the cost isn't covered...hmm. It's ...

Re: Were you physically sick after your jaw op?

I vaguely remember saying 'nauseous' after waking from surgery, and they apparently gave me something (according to my mom) that got rid of the nausea completely. Concerning the time at home, I was only nauseous the day I had to go for my first follow-up appt with the oral surgeon. All the walking a...

Re: jaw surgery

If your insurance pays for the surgery, do it. ASAP. Your increased attractiveness will give you a big confidence boost that makes your personality shine more than it does now (at least, this is my experience). It's really a fantastic thing.

BOOST PLUS! It's easily the most substantial thing I've been eating (drinking?) since my surgery 10 days ago. 360 calories for 8 mL is a lot.
