Powerchains...
I got powerchains yesterday. Man do my teeth HURT! At least its a good pain since I know my teeth are moving. I didn't think they were at all for the past 9 months, but I just posted a side-by-side comparison in my blog and the difference is huge! I haven't been on this site in a while, but ...

Major concern re: elastic bands
I'm currently supposed to be wearing the "rabbit" sized elastics at night - this was prescribed at my appointment yesterday; however, I am allergic to latex. Both types of bands given to me (they differ only in color, from what I can tell) have a latex warning on the back. I voiced my conc...

Anyone allergic to rubberbands?
I have a latex allergy and I'm concerned that I'll have a problem with rubberbands when it comes time for me to use them. My allergy isn't severe, but I can tell when the doc forgets to use vinyl gloves because my tongue gets really itchy. Anyone else have an allergy - and how did you cope? Did you ...

I'm certainly no doctor, but I can tell you how I deal with it. It makes me feel awkward to speak with my ortho when he's standing above me and I have to look up, so I always ask to speak with him in his office before the appointment. This way, I'm face to face with him and I can have my list of que...

Chops, don't worry about them. Just keep in mind that you're doing this to improve your appearance and self-confidence. You'll be happy that you did it in the long run...and if you have to deal with something else down the road, just know that you'll be able to! And, you know your own mind better th...

It's coming along pretty well. I was making some good progress, but I broke a top bracket off and bent the bottom archwire while eating popcorn on Thanksgiving (yeah, I know...no popcorn). Then I had my wisdom teeth out the day after (all four were impacted) so they couldn't repair the bracket or wi...

I did. After having four impacted wisdom teeth out, I had horrible pain on my bottom left part of my mouth. It hurt to bite or chew anything, even after the *other* pains had subsided. When I went for my follow up, I asked if the doctor could see any cracks in my teeth (xray) because I was sure he m...
