That means it's working! In my experience the contact pain like you are describing has never lasted longer than maybe 10 days.BraceFace2115 wrote:6 days later the pain has gone but teeth feel sore when top touch the bottom!!

Re: Frustrated with small gap
What method is your Ortho using to close the gap? I had 4 extractions and my ortho used closing loops on the bottom and powerchains on the top. One of my top gaps was taking some time to close so he finally put a closing loop on that one as well and it closed up in 6 weeks (about 3mm). He has since ...

Re: Extractions VS Slight Flaring
I had my 4 premolars extracted and all looks normal to me. I wore braces for a year before they were extracted. My Ortho thought there would be a chance we could avoid it, but couldn't. I'm glad we did it, because my once my bottom teeth were all aligned (before extractions) they looked way too far ...

Re: Extractions!
I've been officially back to by "normal" diet for about a week now. Still a pain in the butt though with the food getting stuck back in the wisdom teeth areas.

Re: Root canal pain?
I pretty much chalk up all my tooth pain to braces. It usually goes away in 3-7 days.

Re: Closing Loop
Oh I'm not tracking daily. Going to measure once a month.
And things are so far so good. Just started getting back into my normal "pre-extractions" diet.

Here are a couple pics. One of the gaps from above and one that shows what the closing loop looks like.

Re: Closing Loop
I'll use this thread to keep track of the progress. I'll post some pics soon.
Here are the current measurements. I'll just be doing my bottom gaps as those are the only ones with the loops right now, and they are way easier to measure

Re: My first progress pic!
What was the time difference between those two photos? Lately this seems to happen after my most recent adjustments. One tooth either becomes really really sensitive to cold, or super sensitive to touch/pressure. The past 2 have gone away after a week or so. Waiting for my current one to get better :)

Closing Loop
I just got extractions last week and saw my ortho yesterday. Hey put two "closing loops" at my two lower extraction sites. Does anybody have any experience with these? How did they work for you? Mine are shaped like a triangle with a loop at the tip. Here is what mine look like: http://www...

I think I have the same mindset as you on this one. I think I can last one more week on a soft dietasylumgreen wrote:When I had all four wisdom teeth taken out at once, I waited two weeks to eat normal food. Re: Extractions!
I didn't have all 8 teeth pulled at one time, but my advice for you is to take it very slowly when introducing solid foods back into your diet. If it hurts, don't eat it. I was on a soft diet for a while with the wisdom teeth removal and the premolar extractions. I imagine it'll take a few weeks fo...

Re: Extractions!
Has anyone else on here had their wisdom teeth and 4 other teeth extracted at once? If so, how long until you starting eating food that actually required chewing? I still haven't chewed anything. I have stuck with liquid soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt, protein shakes, etc. I'm just afraid of irritat...

Re: Extractions!
Wow - I would've been nervous too, probably wouldn't have needed anesthesia - I would have been out cold!! Well done you. I'm having one upper pre-molar taken out next week and then braces two weeks later. My Ortho said she might need to remove some from the bottom as well but wont know until we're...
