I went with the bonded permanent on bottom, I have a tray-like retainer on top that I only have to wear at night.

@sablequeenie, LOL, I love that movie. I avoid lettuce like the plague. I can't wait to be able to bite into a crisp apple. I can't wait to have a more spacious feeling in my mouth without the metal. Most of all I will never take for granted flossing again. It's what I miss most without the braces.
