Re: braces or invisalign

I honestly wouldn't recommend invisalign to most people. Ortho treatment tends to be painful... and being able to 'opt out' of treatment by not putting in a retainer is too convenient and seems to happen pretty routinely from what I've read. I believe the results one can achieve with traditional bra...

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?

I'm late to the party... but I got my braces on when I was 28. I always wanted (and needed) them as a teenager, but I never got around to it. I am ecstatic to be taking care of this as an adult and should be about 5 months away from being free to enjoy my new smile. To anyone reading this and feelin...

Re: Adults With metal braces - are you happy with your choice?
Yep. Aside all the better stuff I can do with the money I saved, I feel like if I got ceramics I'd be even more self conscious of the fact it looked like I was trying to hide the fact I had braces... If that makes sense?
I agree! I think having traditional br...

Re: Adults With metal braces - are you happy with your choice?

I went traditional for the same reasons as many others here. 1. Cost- there was a somewhat substantial difference in price between the traditional and ceramic options. 2. Look- I actually prefer the look of traditional braces to ceramic. I also thoroughly enjoy colored elastics and power chains. Kin...

Re: !@!!&#! Elastics

Every treatment plan is different- I went more than two years before getting into elastics. I am in it now and also approaching the end of my plan. I find it annoying, but the pain is not nearly as bad as I thought it might be.

Re: Salt Water gargle

I wish I used more salt water early in my treatment. It really is like heaven's elixir. It helped me to get past horrible molar band pain and it still helps to ease issues with rough cheek contact. Like another poster said... there probably isn't an exact amount to use. Just use a glass with warm wa...

Re: Taking retainer out while attending a wedding

I'm still in my braces and not an orthodontist... but I would just try and wear the retainer. I went 27 years with teeth that weren't to my liking. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the success of the treatment.

Re: Damon clear at 26 consultation and put on same day

That's some fast progress. I think I had about 6 weeks in between my initial consult and the bonding day.
