It's hard. I usually press it on to the bracket. Then it will stay. THe funny thing is when I eat with them in, I think some of it comes loose and I end up eating it (of course I don't know it at the time). LOL

I have metal on the top and bottom. I'm an attorney and I speak to citizens every day. The look doesn't bother me at all! I think you should get what makes you feel comfortable and what you can afford.

I have an open bite. Right now, I just have braces lol . I can't wait to start seeing a lot of movement. I'm sure that will happen with elastics.

Welcome to the forum debinator. Don't feel bad about being extra anal about brushing and flossing. I am so meticulous that I spend A LOT of time in the mirror cleaning my teeth. But, I am going to try to cut back because I don't want to damage my teeth and more importantly my gums from over doing it...

Anna5--I think my open bite is bad. But it may not be that bad to others. Also, I feel like my bite got worse after having the spacers in.
