Re: 4 months in and now have a HUGE overbite! Oh no!!!

Thank you, that's reassuring! Yes sorry to rephrase, I have always had an overbite and small bottom jaw, its just become more noticeable to me now my teeth are moving! Unfortunately I don't have an original profile shot to hand to show the change in the overbite. They took one before the braces went...

4 months in and now have a HUGE overbite! Oh no!!!

hi everyone! I posted back in Apr 2013 and thanks to encouragement on this site I went ahead with braces in Dec 2013. I'm really happy that I went ahead. Only now after only 4 months or so, I have such a big overbite and an open bite, its disturbing me! I never expected such a dramatic shift, althou...

Re: Did you have your teeth filed down and filled in?

hi BracesChick, I'm very interested in how you go too. I've been thinking about this too! I will have this same problem if I go ahead with braces. Apparently for me, composite material might be possible followed once the braces come off. I didn't ask my orthodontist the specifics yet so I am not sur...

Re: Pictures before braces - should I, shouldn't I? Grinding

Thanks so much everyone for your helpful comments! I do regret the grinding damage but can't turn back the clock. I would like to decide soon if I can manage it. Braces could be the go if I keep my expectations realistic (straighter but not evenly shaped teeth). Maybe I could worry about the cosmeti...

Re: Pictures before braces - should I, shouldn't I? Grinding

Hello, for those who have made it this far, in case this helps, here are a couple more pics, to demonstrate my natural bite, teeth turning on their side including one front tooth, and shape of teeth. As an aside, you can see one front tooth has a rough front surface. The other is smooth from composi...

Pictures before braces - should I, shouldn't I? Grinding!

hi everyone, yay I can now post pictures! OK I am trying to decide whether to get braces. Also, whether I would be happy at the end or still need cosmetic work of some sort. Please see pics below. I have a slight overbite, and am most worried about the top teeth, as over the years they are becoming ...

Re: Dentist taking wisdom tooth out question

hello, I'm not qualified to comment, but I had said to my orthodontist that I was happy that my wisdom teeth were already taken out (they were impacted) so that I will have lots of space if my teeth need to move back! He replied that braces would not move my teeth towards the back in the way that pe...

Re: Six Month Smile Brace Just Fitted

Oh no, really you can't eat crunchy vegetables? Is this the case for most people with braces or something to do with the 6 months smile? I need my crunchy vegetables!

Re: Lisping

I totally hope I can talk clearly if I get braces, as I already can't say my "Rs" properly!! They come out a little bit like "W's". I was shy about that when I was a kid. I can't say "Carrot" but I'm used to it!

Re: What is your number?

At my first visit, my orthodontist said 18 to 24 months. Apparently I have a good bite already at the back, so this is just to straighten them at the front. That seems like a long time! I think its better to think of it as 24 months and then hope for earlier.

I eat a lot of fresh vegetables and salad, I really hope that doesn't have to change if I get braces. Post number 3, trying to make 7 posts!
