Thanks for replying! I actually called the Ortho and he said I would be ok for a few days without wearing the retainers.

But now my gums are healed enough and I have started wearing my retainers again. I'm feeling much better!

My 2 cents - DONT HAVE EXTRACTIONS!!! This was told to me by my Oral surgeon who I trust completly. I had severe TMJ and my jaw was completely locked. I had numerous consults with oral surgeons, all who said I needed jaw surgery. One the day before surgery, I had one last consultation with this guy....
