Hi- same as bikerchick- my molars were moved forward without TADs... Just elastics and wire changes. I had 4 premolars extracted.

Re: Back teeth not touching, severe Curve of Spee - sigh...

Thanks for your posts... Just in the last week my teeth have started moving again (crazy things!), and the lower arching up of my teeth is starting to be less prominent - yay! I am using elastics (2 on each side in a different configuration) and have been changing them 3 times a day - hopefully to g...

Re: Extraction Orthodontic Nightmare

Sorry for your experience. Can you give more details about the results of extraction and why it was a terrible decision? I have had 4 extractions and braces, and it has worked for me. Sometimes it takes a while for it all to settle down. I wish a successful conclusion to your extraction saga with yo...

Back teeth not touching, severe Curve of Spee - sigh...

Hi all! I am 8 months into treatment - top and bottom braces. I had four teeth extracted before braces on to allow for room. I have a very severe Curve of Spee (front teeth arching upwards) that has developed in the last 3 months of having braces. I did not have this previous to my braces going on. ...

Re: On my way to a BIG SMILE! 37 years old

Thanks Matilda!

...and BTW, I got my teeth cleaned professionally about a week ago, and what a difference it made. It made me realize how stained they had become and I was so pleased that all of the staining was superficial :)

Re: Curve of Spee (lower arch curving upwards at front)

So, ortho appt yesterday and we've started into fixing lower arch apparently - yay! I have a total of FOUR elastics in my mouth now and I asked the ortho if he was serious (ah... Yes, he was!!) .
Can't wait to get the curve sorted as it's horrid to look at- I have been avoiding the mirror of late :/

Re: Life with braces has been good until now...is this norma

I am 8 months in, and ONLY today did I get a sensitive tooth - hoping tis just 'another crazy thing' happening in my mouth since having braces on, and not sign of a cavity... I am off to the ortho for an adjustment this Friday so will def be asking him.
It is SO sensitive, even to coldish water!

Re: When does it get better?!

Urgh - I know what you mean - I am a Primary School teacher so can't get through the day without a LOT of talking! I used a lot of wax, before it got sore, and would use wax on my teeth every night, even if they weren't sore to give my gums and cheeks a break. I think I am about 8 months in (have a ...

Re: Just wanted to share - braces off

Heheh - I know its worth it, but I agree with your comment about wanting to rip them off sometimes... I often think I would like to 'BRUSH' them off when I am doing my last brushing of the day!!

Congrats and thanks for the encouragement. Smile broadly!!

Re: Ceramic braces too bulky?

I wanted the least conspicuous braces I could get so managed ceramic on top 8, but ortho wouldn't allow ceramic on lower :/. I wish I could have had all ceramic! I like the fact they don't stand out as much - it didn't bother me that they are larger than the metal - as I don't know any different rea...

Re: Let the Journey Begin....

I am really interested to read your current posts about the front lower teeth rising up, as this has happened to me, and I want to know when and how they fix it during the process. Like you, I didn't start with it, but it has developed over the course of treatment. Will be watching what happens in y...
