Earlier in my treatment, I was told that I will need to wear elastics for the rest of my treatment. The day I got them put on (in July), I was told that I would only need to wear them for the next appointment or two. What is typical?

The day I got my braces on (in April 2013), I found out I will be getting elastics in about July (2nd or 3rd adjustment). I'm really annoyed with the metal brackets and am not looking forward to the elastics. I am looking forward to getting my bite fixed. I'm glad to hear someone actually likes them...

Thanks for the support. My wife also told me to stop worrying about it, but it is easy for her to say - she never had braces. It sounds like several of you have quite a bit of patience with a longer treatment time.

Good luck. I will be getting braces on April 11th and also a rookie to this site. Only slight overbite/overjet to fix, along with some crowding. My biggest challenge I believe will be the food limitations!
