Wanted to tell people who would be equally excited - I finally gotta debanding date! November 11th is the day
I'll have ended up with them for 20 months - 3 months longer than predicted, but with a smile that I'm truly pleased with.
42 days until naked teeth!

detailing appt?
Hey!
So my ortho appt today is a "detailing" appt. Can you give me any insight on what I should expect today and perhaps how far away from debanding I am?
Thanks!

Re: Clear elastics
I don't think so.
I've recently switched to colored elastics and couldn't be happier about it
If I've got to wear them, I might as well flaunt them!

Re: What Do You Miss Eating Most?
I'm with Dan hasn't inhibited that at all.
I'm thinking Dan gets some kind of award if he's pulling this off with elastics in though - or you've got a different elastics configuration. I'm wearing impalas (tiny little things) in a triangle configuration with the top on my upper canines.

Re: "Permanent Elastics"
I don't change mine either - i only see my ortho every 10 weeks, and they just change them at the adjustments. I've also got regular triangle elastics that I change out 3x or so daily.

My ortho office calls them tie backs.

Re: Fluoride-free toothpaste
I like the tom's spearmint and wintergreen flavors. The only one I've ever heard bad things about is the clove flavor.
I use sensodyne in the morning and evenings, and the tom's just firing the day.

Re: Bite Turbos-anyone else?
Hey! I've had both, and I actually prefer the turbo. It'll be betterThe adjustment period that you're going through with the turbos sucks, but it gets better I swear! Sing a lot, read out loud, do anything to get your time used to hurting the turbo. Your speech with adjust and soon it will be better...

That's one of my biggest fears, lol. Luckily I've avoided it so far (knock on wood!)

Yes, they will. My ortho suggested cutting the wire with nail clippers or cuticle scissors when my wire popped out. Good luck!

Re: Is your life on hold?
Heck no! I feel like I've probably gotten a little more confident since having them. I think it takes a lot of guts to wear braces as an adult, and I'm really proud that I took the leap! I'm fact, I'm even doing things that I probably wouldn't have done before putting the braces on and getting the c...

Re: Rectangular wires?
I call shenanigans also my ortho said that the first rectangular wire is the one people hurt the most with, but even at that after a week I was pretty good. Hope your soreness isn't too bad - keep ahead of the pain with the ibprofen!

Re: Fastest time from consultation to braces?
Yes, you can totally do that if the ortho is comfortable with it!
Mine offered and I said no just because I needed to move money around.
My time from consultation to braces was 14 days
