Re: Looking younger
Hey Realizingadream, Nine was a great age! I was already anticipating my first set of braces at age nine. Ahh..the days :-) The strangest thing happened after I posted that last night. Some kid (young 30s?) came up to me while I was biking and started talking to me, and asked if I was a STUDENT?? I ...

Re: Need hiring advice; braces; human resources
I am not in a hiring position, but I do see some not-so-subtle age discrimination at work. I vote to keep them on!

Re: Does having braces change your personality
Now that I have braces on, I smile way more, and smile bigger, at people I know. I even smile while I talk. Also, now that I have braces on, I bare my teeth at people I don't know when I pass them. I want to make sure they see all the braces, top and bottom. Sure, I probably look like a rabid dog, b...

Re: Final meal before braces
I was a vegan for two years, then got braces, then started eating hamburgers.
I am so backwards sometimes.

Re: Braces and cycling?
I was just biking last night, getting bugs in my eyes and on my face, wondering how my braces looked!
I agree, I figure it's just a matter of time.

Re: Not sure whether to go a head with treatment
I freaked out so bad the couple of nights before the big date. It totally interrupted my sleep, and I have narcolepsy.
I did it and I'm so happy I did. My teeth weren't that bad either. Nobody else thought I needed braces, but I knew I'd feel better if I got them. I do feel better already.

Re: Is my orthodontist getting rid of me?
I second what bmueller said.
I know from experience that some people are VERY put off by harsh words and harsh tones, and will do anything to get as far away from it as possible. They could easily have seen that as you wanting to get away from them! (hence the "braces off" scenario)

Re: Looking younger
You sound like you really do look young. But I've seen a trend lately of tons of people thinking they look younger than their age, seemingly just by their own judgment. Apart from the braces world, I have a sister, a coworker, and a friend who all think they look like they're in high school. They do...

Looking younger
Has anyone else noticed that tons and tons of people with braces think they look younger than they are before braces, and think they look even younger with braces? What is up with this? Do only people who think they look young get braces?? Or do most fifteen year olds think they look five? :P At wha...

Re: Braces & bruxism
Hi- Just to understand, is your bruxism all throughout the day or just at night? Why is it worse with braces, do you think? Just trying to understand.
I clench at night, but it's not gotten worse with braces.

Getting metal brackets to stick to porcelain teeth
So I went back in today to get the two wayward metal brackets glued back on to my molars. I told them I thought I might have made the brackets come off by eating little pieces of chopped up ginger in my super-steamed broccoli, but they seemed certain that this should not have made the brackets come ...

Re: Does everyone here have bands on their molars?
One of the teeth that the bracket came off (the first night it was put on) is a crown. I remember them telling me the glue is intended for teeth, not crown material, and that there may be problems trying to keep the brakcet on. The other tooth from which the bracket came unglued is not a highly rest...
