I am wondering when I might notice an improvement in my overbite. 6 mo? 9 mo? I am supposed to have my braces on a total of 12-15 months, and I am excited to see improvement...So...for those of you who have been dealing with fixing an overbite, when did you start to see improvement??

HI there! I'm new as well. Just got my braces Tuesday, and I am 33 yo.

The inside of my cheeks are pretty tore up, too. I try to put wax on trouble spots before bed and take it out in the morning, and that helps a lot when I wake up and during the day with soreness.

SO sorry about your husband's grandmother-you are right that tomorrow will be a tough day. Can you reschedule your ortho so it's not on the same day? At the very least, you know what to expect with your lower braces. Everything won't feel as new or bothersome as if you were completely new to braces....

I don't have problems sleeping...it's the first 2 minutes of waking up that is uncomfortable. Not painful...just slightly uncomfortable. My mouth creates some kind of vacuum and my lips are sealed to my braces. Once I un-stick each bracket, I'm better. I don't think I would change my sleeping patter...

I was told 12-15 months, leaning towards 15. That means they will be off May 2014, since I just got them. I like the fact they will be off in time for summer, but I have no idea why! LOL

I bet it will be fine until they can get you in...maybe they would give the ok for you to clip it if it's sticking out...or poking you. I would def call and ask.
