Re: Braces success-still possible with a thumb habit?

Hello, I have been an adult thumbsucker myself and I fully sympathesize with you, I know how hard it is too stop this habit, it is so comforting, so addictive. So I really feel with you... But I would like to warn you, if you suck your thumb during ortho treatment, it not only undermines your treatm...

Re: Treating open bite and cross bite with no surgery

Hello! I can understand that you are worried about your open bite. Definitely talk with your ortho about it, he may be able to reassure you. I am no ortho, but I know that things often get worse first before they get better. You are still very early in your treatment. Usually they first align the ar...

Re: Treating open bite and cross bite with no surgery

Hello! I want to wish you very good luck with your treatment! I was in a similar situation as you, narrow palate and open bite. Ortho recommended SARPE, but I refused. I went the just-braces route and everything turned out fine. My open bite is closed now (with elastics) and my crossbite corrected. ...

Re: 6 week post op :-)

Hello!

I am SO happy for you that the surgery went well with a good recovery. And I think your bite has improved A LOT, it is almost perfect now, congratulations!! I wish you a very good further recovery.
How long do you still need to be in braces?

Greetings from Anna

Re: Posterior open bite relapse: time for new ortho?

Beatiful, congratulations!!! I hope this makes you feel a bit better about your teeth. Your bite may still be off, but I am sure the only thing most people will see is a very beautiful smile! Have you already talked with your surgeon about your relapse? I hope they can do something to fix this (but ...

Good luck with your treatment!
Maybe you can post some pictures of your smile? (but of course only if you want to...) We all love to see progress pictures!

Re: How do lips normallly seal?

Thanks for your replies! I think your lip seal is normal, woobster, that the lower lip also covers a bit of the upper teeth. I wish you very good luck with your treatment, purplestar, I hope your treatment will fix your lip incompetence as well as your teeth! I will see a surgeon on Tuesday, so I wi...

No, I haven't decided yet.

How do lips normallly seal?

Hello! I got my braces off a couple of months ago, but I still have lip incompetence which bothers me. My upper lip covers about two thirds of my upper incisors, but my lower lip covers nothing! (so at rest you can see one third of my upper incisors and all my bottom teeth). I was wondering: how do ...

Re: Posterior open bite relapse: time for new ortho?

Dearest Samoorelaw, I am happy that you saw your ortho and that he took your problems seriously. But I feel sorry for you that he probably cannot close your posterior open bite. You deserve so much better, especially after having gone through surgery! But I am afraid he is right and that he seriousl...
