Mine do. I can't really feel them anymore, but I remember in the beginning they really irritated my tongue and made it tired. Wax helped with the sharpness.

I had that! I had a narrow arch and when the braces started to move everything out, my nose was sore. Consequently, a year and a half later, I breathe so much better through my nose than ever in my life .
