Re: DEBRACED today: ahead of schedule!
Wow, amazing results ! Your teeth are beautiful. The fact that you got debraced earlier gives hope that not ALL treatments end up longer than expected. That's great ! If I may ask, did you have to correct your bite as well, or just the alignment of your teeth? Hi! I had to correct an underbite, as ...

Damon braces: 1 year update
1yearupdate.jpg Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted, and I just wanted to share the dramatic improvements! I crossed the one year mark in February :) I have Damon Clear uppers and Damon metal lowers. Had a hidden right incisor, was fitted with spring/button/elastic to bring that forward. ...

Re: Hidden tooth progress!
I agree.....great progress!! I am always impressed when I see updates like this!! I cannot wait until I see improvement with my own teeth. I do have a question.... in the last picture...it looks like there is something in the back of your mouth? May I ask.....what is it ? and painful ??? There's no...

Re: Hidden tooth progress!
Wow! What a huge difference, and in such a short time as well. Was it pretty painful to have that incisor being pulled in that fast? P.s I'm getting damon clear uppers, they look like they would feel quite big, you have any trouble with that? Hi! No, it did not hurt. I had a open coil spring for a ...

Hidden tooth progress!
Hi everyone!
I just passed the six month mark in braces, and am thrilled at the progress of how a hidden incisor has steadily made its way forward, and thought I should share my pictures in the interest of others in a similar situation!
I have Damon Clear uppers and metal lowers.

Re: Gift for ortho office?
Love the suggestion of Edible Arrangements! I was going to bring some cupcakes and treats from a famous local bakery in my neighborhood during one of my adjustment visits, but it just seems so inappropriate to give sweet, sticky treats to people who work on teeth?! I even thought of including a note...

Re: just got my impressions!
Hi! Congrats on the braces! Yes, I was rather tickled at the "flavors" too. I was offered a myriad of options including green apple, grape, and cotton candy among others. I don't even remember what I picked! Thankfully the RDA I got was REALLY good. I read so much about bad gag reflexes an...

Re: 3 weeks with braces but i don't see a difference
I took pictures every week and didn't seem to notice a difference either, until a friend who had braces told me to observe the change in the curvature of the wire. Here's an example of my Day 1 versus today at Week 24, Day 168 (I just had an adjustment): week24compare.jpg See how much the wires have...

Re: Anyone get braces without spacers first?
Hi there! The first orthodontist I saw (traditional braces) suggested 4 extractions and spacers immediately after. I wasn't too comfortable with the suggestion and sought a second opinion. In the end, the orthodontist I went with (and adore!) used Damon system (self-ligating). I have no extractions,...

Re: Ceramic are weaker than metal brackets?
I'm on the Damon system and have ceramic uppers and metal lowers. My ortho was candid about preferring to work with metal brackets because metal = more pliable than ceramic, therefore logically there's less possibility of breakage, and easier to debond. He did not offer Damon Clears (ceramic) on the...

Re: Celebrating 3 weeks with Damon Braces (metal)
Hi there! Congrats on "surviving" 3 weeks! I am pleasantly surprised by my Damon braces too, and have heard far worst horror stories from others about adjustments with traditional braces. Maybe we're just lucky! I use the Oral-B electric toothbrush that I already owned pre-braces and had t...

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
I totally can imagine the awkwardness of wearing the elastics at work. I have an underbite that has improved a lot, but I suspect elastics might be in my future.... And I have a feeling I wouldn't want to be wearing them when meeting clients either!
