Hey-I have a #7 to a #22 set up, but for now I only have to sleep in it. If you are wearing it all day, you will probably see results fast.

metal taste?

Can anyone "taste" their braces? Lately I have had a very strong metal taste in my mouth. If I put my tongue on my bottom molar bands, I can really taste the metal. Now, I am also taking an antibiotic (doxicycline) and I wonder if the medicine is somehow affecting my sense of taste, or if ...

Dry mouth/metallic taste

I got my braces on over 6 months ago. Initially, I had quite an issue with dry mouth, but that problem subsided after the first month or so. However, now it is back with a vengence. It seems like since my last appointment in Jan. I have had an extremely dry mouth, chapped lips, and a constant metall...

Lots of great suggestions. My husband and I went out to eat at a very nice resturant last week, and I ordered grouper (pretty good on keeping the braces clean) grilled veg and creme brulee. I made it out without too much damage. Another good meal I had right after I got my lowers was manacotti. I do...

Yes, I can relate. I got my bottom braces on two weeks ago, and even though the pain inside my teeth is better, every day the hooks on my lower braces seem to shift from "mouth snaggers" to "no problems" for no apparent reason. Anyway, after a day of "no problems" I tho...

Best Resturant Food?

I got my bottom braces on 3 weeks ago. After the initial pain, I have gotten used to the feel of my metal lowers, but eating is a hassle. My uppers are ceramic, and they stay much cleaner than my metal bottoms. Now, I know the question of food has come up often on this forum, but I would love to kno...
