Good Adjustment Today

Had an adjustment today and got some good news. First my ortho said I could stop wearing my elastics during the day and just wear them to bed. I'm very excited about this! I guess it paid to wear them like he instructed. Second he mentioned (again) that I'm getting close to having them off, but did ...

I've been braced about 9 months now and I eat everything, including popcorn, apples, corn on the cob, sandwiches, whatever. Doesn't really bother me anymore. I do try to avoid things that tend to get stuck in the brackets though, like soft breads. The first few weeks were kind of strange getting use...

Sounds like you are in a very similar situation as myself. I've been wearing braces now for ~9months and just got my elastics on about 2wks ago. However I only have to wear one band on the left side and to be changed once per day. At first it felt kinda strange and I was a bit concerned about wearin...

Panang curry is my favorite! I have been avoiding it though cause it would stain clear ligs. Occasionally, right before an adjustment, I'll treat myself to a good local thai resteraunt for some coconut & lemongrass soup, and some panag curry, with some white rice of course. yummmm.

You were right, it says on the bag. They are 1/4" 3-1/2oz from ORMCO Z-pak. Does anyone else have these?

(thanks for the comments on the quote, i've edited my previous reply)

They go from top canine to the bottom back molar!!!! I cannot believe how that tiny little rubber can strech all the way back... My upper jaw hurts like hell,I guess with a major overjet (12 mm) that's the way it's should be.... How long are we supoosed to wear this? 2,3 months??? I just got ...

Congrats on the new braces Skinny! It'll be worth it in the end. I'm about your age and also have clear on top/metal on bottom. Sounds like your ortho tricked you though and told you uppers only, and then did both. The loose teeth feeling should go away after a few days though. For me my teeth were ...

I appreciate all of your comments. I'm currently on day 2 at work with my elastics on, and they are already beginning to feel pretty normal. I even brushed my teeth this morning with them in which really wasn't that big of a deal. What do elastics do anyway? I believe it has something to do with my ...

Interesting you started wearing elastics so quickly. I have been braced for about 6 months now and just had to start wearing them as of today. I don't fully understand why I only wear it on one side but the doc knows best. Seems like that would be a pain to have to switch tem to different teeth ever...

New rubber bands

Hello, Today my ortho said I need to start wearing rubber bands. It's only on one side though. I am a bit anxious about having to wear them to work though. Wearing braces as an adult to work is bad enough let alone wearing rubber bands. He said I should leave them in, even when eating? Seems like th...

Archwire poking my cheeck

During my last adjustment, my ortho fitted my uppers with power chains from about 3 teeth on the left to the very back on the right. Since then, my arch wire has been poking out the back on one side causing a lot of discomfort. I went back once after only 2 days and they clipped it off, but then aft...
