I'm doing pretty well, ready to get the party started! LOL! I got the expander on Friday and I'm getting used to it. Still hard to eat and say some words. I'm just ready to start the process and get it over with!

So I get the rapid palatal expander put in on Friday Jan 11. I am extremely nervous about wearing it. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on getting used to it? How long did it take you to adjust to talking and eating?

I'm having Sarpe on Jan 15 - then braces will follow about 3-4 weeks later. I was given the timeframe of 18-21 months so yours seems to be about right.

Oh I am terrified of the gap! I'm still not sure how I am going to do all this... I got the separators in on Thursday and they are painful and hard to eat with so I know that expander is going to be a huge pain. I am most worried about the gap and talking funny. Ugh. I haven't yet had my SARPE surgery, it is scheduled for Jan 15. I plan on taking off work from Jan 15-21. From talking to others who have had the surgery, they agree this should be enough time.
