Re: Made it to steel archwire. Curious about steps after (closing gaps)
Congratulations, sounds like you are making great progress! My bite was messed up throughout treatment, and then at the very end - voila! Everything seemed to come together. Best of luck to you.

Re: Made it to steel archwire. Curious about steps after (closing gaps)
Great to hear your update and congratulations on your progress! Sounds like you are doing everything right. I had forgotten about the "creaky teeth" you mentioned, but as soon as I read your post I immediately thought of my obsession with it  . I won't comment on the role of the power...

This is an older post, but some have used a product called Biotene for dry mouth...also, avoid mouthwashes with alcohol. Best of luck to you.

Re: Adult Expander - How do I swallow properly?
Sounds pretty difficult -- I hope you are feeling better soon. I have not had to experience the joys of an expander, but did do a search on this board for "Adult Expander" and then narrowed with the term "swallow": https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=...

Re: LAWSUIT ALLEGES ANTICOMPETITIVE PRACTICES BY ALIGN TECHNOLOGY
I guess I don't see the problem with a company profiting from their proprietary technology/scanner and differentiating themselves from the competition. Perhaps there can be some sort of licensing agreement, but then again that would cost money that these two dental practices may not be willing to pa...

Re: Coil springs
Congrats on making the decision to start your orthodontic adventure! You can of course do a Google search on orthodontic springs such as this one https://www.adventureortho.com/why-do-some-patients-need-braces-with-springs/#:~:text=Coil%20springs%20are%20placed%20along,teeth%20together%20to%20reduce...

Re: Lower lingual arch
I can't directly help you, but I did do a search on this board and came up with many pages herein: https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/search.php?keywords=lower+lingual+arch&fid%5B0%5D=13 . It may be bit much to read through but I think you'll find some interesting perspectives. Best of luck to you!

Re: New Hawleys Retainer
My understanding is that they can be adjusted -- you've probably already Googled "Can Hawley retainers be adjusted," but would advise that you consult with your orthodontist -- I don't think this is a DIY project. Best of luck to you.

Re: INVISALIGN RESPONDS TO CONTROVERSIAL GUN PROMOTION
He may just have an excellent understanding of his market, no offense to any Tar Heels out there. Let's see how it plays out. Despite my best efforts not to, I had to laugh at the name of the promotion, "Grins and Glocks." We'll have to see how Invisalign responds if this thing takes off. ...

Re: PDF and Dental Appliances: Two Converging Worlds
Welcome to the forum! I'm just a bit unclear what audience you are seeking. From your interest in pdfsmart, it would seem you are targeting administrative personnel within dental practices; likewise I am uncertain if you are seeking information about "dental devices" from the professional ...

Re: Made it to steel archwire. Curious about steps after (closing gaps)
Glad to hear that you are making progress and have achieved this important milestone. I am not an orthodontist, but as a former patient I can confidently say that I detested the rubber bands. It seemed like a step backwards in terms of enunciation and comfort, but you'll get used to them soon enough...

Re: Usually not overwhelmingly sweet things are now unbearably sweet?
It might be coincidental with the braces, but there are other medical issues that might contribute to this...so you might want to check with your physician if it persists. Best of luck to you!
