Retainer question

At this last appointment my ortho told me that I have less than 6 months to go ( yay!) I asked her what type of retainer I would be getting and she said Essix ( the clear type) I am not sure how I feel about that. I know my hubby had both ( first time around he had Hawley and second time he got an e...

My estimate was 30 months and at my last appointment I finally got the nerve to ask her how my progress was going and she looked at my teeth and my chart and told me that I will have them off before August '07!! That means I will be getting them off before 24 months! WooHoo!

Sorry that they are giving you so much trouble Tammy. Is it any better today?
Do you have a waterpick? Our ortho highly recommended one for my son Matthew to keep the expander clean.
Hang in there.... one step closer to your goal of gorgeous teeth!

Hi Kim! My son is 10 and is already in phase I- expander and 4 front brackets. He has done well with Phase I and it has made a tremendous difference ( he had a cross bite and one of his front teeth was in front of his bottoms and one was behind) He has had little discomfort and it has been fun going...

dymond25 : I dont use a floss threader, I use Superfloss by Oral B. It has a stiff end to work under your wires. I personally prefer it. In my purse I always carry wax ( even after all this time, I still have to use it once in a while) extra elastics, if you are using them, chapstick, floss, travel...

I had this done several months back. My office called it IPR. They basically flossed between two teeth with a sandpaper like floss... no pain at all. I also had them reshape one of my teeth and they used a dremel like tool, that also didnt hurt ( just some pressure on the tooth) I too worried for th...

Glad that you got that fixed Tammy. I have had a molar band come loose once too, I dont think that its something that you "did" it just happens. :)

Thats great that your starting to feel better also! How are the new molar bands feeling tonight?

Glad that you found some and stocked up! :) Also- make sure to ask at the orthos next time ( even if you aren't using any at that time) there is no point in buying wax when you can get it from your ortho. If those inner cleats are bothering you, you can put wax on those as well. It is a bit tricky b...

Tammy, Congrats on starting your journey! One day down-- :) most of the drug stores should have wax- definitely go get some and use as much as needed to make your cheeks comfortable! Some people aren't as bothered ( son Matthew didnt need any wax- son Steven only used a little bit, but I still use w...

Hey Tammy, I am happy to see your post! :) ((hugs)) Sorry that the spacers are bothering you- they can be terrible! You will definitely feel relief when they remove them and place your molar bands- they are much more comfortable. BTW, Tammy is my sister! We live in different states but we are going ...
