Re: Waterpik (or similar) vs. flossing
My dentist recommended using a waterpik and regular floss - I agree with him. Using a Waterpik is great for ortho patients who need the extra cleaning, but regular floss is always going to get right up into the gum line between the teeth. So for very thorough cleaning I say use both. I also live in ...

Dr Clarence Tam has just written a post about soda and how long you should wait to brush your teeth see: http://greatsmilenz.wordpress.com/2012/11/13/five-tips-to-dazzle-your-smile/ Basically, with invisalign you can take the retainer off to brush whenever you feel like it! p.s. the wash your mouth ...

Re: I never wore my retainers
Know what you mean...I never wore my retainer at the end of my Invisalign course and now my teeth are gradually moving back to their original position i.e. gaps. Wondering what to do next as it won't take much to get the gaps closed again, and was thinking about Myobrace. Does anyone have any though...

You guys need some supplements to help relax your jaw muscles and strengthen teeth and bones. You should take a combo of good quality potassium and calcium supplements and I guarantee in just a few days your jaw and facial muscles will be feeling much more relaxed.

Re: Getting sick with braces and elastics
Baking soda is great for your mouth because it neutralizes acidity where bad bacteria flourish. I use baking soda in my Waterpik, and an amazing mouthwash and tooth powder called Ozospa, which has a baking soda property as well as xylitol, ozonated water, organic menthol and other natural products. ...

Check out myofunctional therapy to correct breathing and swallowing patterns, which, along with the thumb sucking may have helped cause the open bite.

Re: What led you to choose invisalign or similar?
Invisalign suited my orthodontic requirements at the time, which was gaps between my teeth. They were amazing and gradually brought all my teeth into alignment without pain. I actually enjoyed wearing them and feeling that bit of tension, knowing they were working to straighten my teeth. Just make s...

Re: Waterpik
Bacteria is generated much more easily with braces due to food getting caught in them. Therefore, I highly recommend using superior cleaning products such as Waterpik to reduce the chance of this happening. There is nothing worse than bad breath caused by bacteria around braces. If you practice good...

Re: Invisalign Question
I didn't find my Invisalign painful at all. There is a bit of pressure each time you change your aligners, but nothing to be concerned about. I actually like that initial pressure because it feels like it's doing what it's meant to do. Good Luck.

Re: New Waterpik Fun Times
Hey there, I'm new to this board, but a bit of an oral health enthusiast and I LOVE my waterpik flosser. I've struggled all my life with flossing until I bought waterpik and now I floss regularly. It's changed my life and my mouth feels cleaner and healthier.
Happy flossing!
