My clear brackets don't stain at all. They're self ligating, so I don't have to worry about ligatures.

On the other hand, I have a clear power chain on my bottom teeth, which has gone a lovely shade of green.. Absolutely hanging out for my next adjustment..

I haven't had any actual brackets fall off, but I did have one hook thing on one of the brackets just come off. I was talking on the phone and felt a weird thing in my mouth. My ortho was joking that it must have been an intense phone call.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates it when people say it adds character. I have to say though that apart from that one comment ("don't get braces, crooked teeth add character" etc) I've only gotten positive comments! To my face at least..

My teeth are always very sore for about 2 days after an adjustment, and every other day I don't even notice that I have braces!

Pulling down an impacted canine is extremely painful though!

I think it's awesome that some orthos give false teeth to cover gaps. I have an impacted canine being brought down and I've had a gap there for 9 months
